Challenge139 · Day 1 — You Are Known
Welcome to Day 1 of Challenge139. I’m so glad you’re here, choosing to make space for God in the middle of your beautifully ordinary, beautifully busy life. Over these next 139 days, my prayer is that you would discover, in a fresh way, how deeply seen and tenderly loved you really are.
Scripture
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.”
Psalm 139:1 (NIV)
To be known is one of the deepest longings of the human heart. We ache for someone to see past our surface, to notice the quiet tears, the hidden hopes, the questions we don’t say out loud. In this very first verse of Psalm 139, God whispers, “I already do.” Before you explain yourself, before you fix yourself, before you prove yourself — He has searched you, and He knows you.
For some of us, the idea of being fully known feels comforting, like a soft blanket around our shoulders. For others, it feels a little scary. What about the parts of you that feel messy, inconsistent, or not “Christian enough”? What about the doubts, the impatience, the places where you feel stuck? God sees all of that, and instead of pulling away, He comes closer. His knowing is never cold or clinical; it is warm, personal, and full of compassion.
Today, you don’t have to perform for God. You don’t have to show Him your most polished version and hide the rest. The God who searched you also handcrafted you. He remembers the girl you once were and understands the woman you are becoming. He knows the story behind your reactions, the weight behind your yeses and nos, the reasons behind your weariness. And still, His gaze on you is kind.
As you step into this 139-day journey, you’re not introducing yourself to a distant, distracted God. You are returning to the One who has always known you, even when you felt unknown by others or misunderstood by yourself. Let today be an exhale — a gentle beginning where you simply receive this truth: you are fully known, and fully invited closer.
Journal Reflection
Question for today: How does it make you feel that God knows you?
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for knowing me completely and loving me fully. Thank You that nothing about me is hidden from You — not my fears, not my failures, not my quiet hopes. On this first day of Challenge139, help me to rest in Your gentle gaze. Teach me to trust that Your knowledge of me is always wrapped in kindness and mercy. Draw my heart closer to Yours as I walk with You today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
As you go into your day, carry this with you: you don’t walk into a single room, conversation, or decision as an unknown woman. You are seen, understood, and held by the God who lovingly searched you and calls you His.
