Challenge139 — Day 3

Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:1
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.” (Psalm 139:1, NIV)
Devotional Reflection — Known Then, Known Now, Known Forever
Sister, before anyone knew your name, God searched you and knew you. He saw every chapter of your story; the joyful ones, the painful ones, the ones you wish you could erase and He chose to set His love on you anyway. Psalm 139:1 is more than a comforting verse; it is a declaration that you are fully, completely, deeply known.
He knows your past and all of your the hidden regrets, the private victories, the secret wounds. Nothing about yesterday shocks Him. He was there, holding you, even when you didn’t feel Him. He knows your present which include the questions you don’t say out loud, the pressure you carry in your chest, the decisions in front of you that feel heavy and unclear. And He knows your future; the woman you are becoming in Him, the doors He will open, the healing He will complete, the ways He will use your life for His glory.
Because He knows you fully, you never have to perform in prayer. You don’t need polished words or perfect faith. You can come as you are, messy, unsure, even tired. He has searched you already; prayer is your chance to simply agree with what He sees and invite Him to sit with you in it. When you whisper, “Lord, I don’t even know myself right now,” He gently answers, “Daughter, I do.”
Today, let your prayers be honest rather than impressive. Thank Him specifically for knowing your past, for walking with you in this present moment, and for holding your future with tenderness and strength. Let the truth of Psalm 139:1 move from your head to your heart: you are fully known and fully loved, right here, right now.
Journal Prompt
Journal Entry: Write down how well you really know God. Are there parts of His character you trust easily and others you still question? Where have you seen Him be faithful in your past? Where are you struggling to trust Him in the present? Invite the Holy Spirit to show you any places where your view of God is too small, too harsh, or shaped more by people’s failures than by His Word.
Today’s Challenge
Challenge139 — Day 3: This week, choose one specific decision you are making — big or small. It might be a financial choice, a conversation you’re nervous about, a boundary you need to set, or a step of obedience God has been nudging you toward.
Bring that decision before God in prayer and say, “Lord, You have searched me and You know me. I invite You into this decision. Show me who You are here.” Then, pause long enough to listen. Pay attention this week to how He leads — through His Word, His peace, wise counsel, or a holy discomfort that redirects you. Make a note in your journal of how He shows Himself to you through this one decision.
You are not walking into your week alone or unseen. The God who searched you and knows you is walking every step with you, delighted to reveal more of His heart as you trust Him.
