Challenge139 — Day 7

The God Who Knows My Every Thought

Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:4

“Before a word is on my tongue You, Lord, know it completely.” (Psalm 139:4, NIV)

Devotional Reflection — The God Who Knows My Every Thought

Sis, have you ever stopped yourself before saying something because you knew the words weren’t right? Or perhaps you’ve smiled on the outside while your mind was filled with questions, worries, or silent prayers that no one else could hear. Or maybe your mindset was not quite in the right area or perhaps you were upset and the emotion has your thoughts all over the place.

The beautiful truth of Psalm 139:4 is that nothing within you is hidden from God. Before a word ever leaves your lips, He already knows it completely. He knows the prayers you whisper, the prayers you can’t find the words to pray, the conversations you rehearse in your mind, the fears you try to bury beneath a smile, and the dreams you’ve been too afraid to speak aloud. He knows every thought that passes through your heart.

For some, that truth can feel intimidating. But for the daughter of God, it is deeply comforting. God doesn’t wait until you explain yourself before He understands you. He already knows what you’re trying to say, even when your heart is too overwhelmed to form the words. There are moments when grief is too deep, joy is too overwhelming, or life is simply too exhausting to express. Yet your Heavenly Father never misunderstands your silence.

How many times have you said, “Lord, I don’t even know what to pray?” He already knows. How many times have tears become your language? He understands. How many thoughts have raced through your mind that you couldn’t share with anyone else? He has never looked away.

The God who formed your mind also knows every thought that fills it. He lovingly invites you to bring those thoughts into His presence—not because He needs the information, but because He desires relationship with you. Prayer has never been about informing God. Prayer has always been about walking with Him.

He delights when His daughters speak honestly with Him—not with polished speeches, but with open hearts. Today, don’t filter your conversation with God. Talk to Him about your joys, your disappointments, your victories, your fears, and even the thoughts you wish would stop racing through your mind. The Creator who knit you together knows His creation better than anyone else ever could, and He loves listening to your voice.

Journal Prompt

Journal Entry: What thoughts have been occupying your mind lately? Are they filled with peace, worry, gratitude, fear, hope, or uncertainty? Write an honest letter to God exactly as you’re thinking and feeling today. Don’t edit yourself. Remember, He already knows every word before you write it.

Today’s Challenge

Challenge139 — Day 7: A Walk with the Creator

Today, give yourself the gift of movement and quiet time with God. Go for a 15-20 minute walk—whether it’s around your neighborhood, at a park, on a trail, or even around your workplace during a break.

As you walk, thank God for your body from head to toe. Thank Him for the mind that allows you to think, the eyes that see His creation, the ears that hear His voice, the hands that serve others, the heart that continues to beat, and the legs and feet that faithfully carry you through each day.

While you walk, have a one-on-one conversation with the Creator who knows His creation better than anyone else. Talk to Him as you would a trusted Father and faithful Friend. Share what is on your heart. Ask your questions. Celebrate your victories. Release your burdens. Then spend a few moments simply listening, allowing His peace to meet you with every step.

When you return home, write down one thing you sensed God speaking to your heart during your walk.

Today’s Prayer

Father, thank You for knowing every thought before I ever speak it. Thank You that I never have to hide my heart from You because You already understand me completely. As I walk today, remind me that I am wonderfully made by Your hands and deeply loved by Your heart. Help me to care for the body You have given me, to quiet my mind in Your presence, and to enjoy simply being with You. May every step I take remind me that I never walk alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sis, Remember This…

God isn’t waiting for the perfect prayer. He’s simply waiting for your presence.

The One who created every part of you already knows every thought within you.

Walk with Him today. Talk with Him honestly. Thank Him intentionally. The Creator delights in spending time with His beloved daughter.

  1. Excellent challenge for today. As I was reading through this inspiring devotion I realize that we must never take any of the body parts for granted. I must take time to say “Thank You God for every part” Even through the aches and pains on this morning Thanks Be to God!! And thank you Lady Hodge!

    1. Exactly what I was thinking, when i wrote this. Let’s not take anything about us for granted. Our Creator knew what he was doing when he made us and we should be joyous about the creation He made. and like you said even through the aches and pain I can still thank Him.
