Challenge139 — Day 19 — Capture
FILAS Women Online — Devotional for a deeper, more intimate walk with the God who knows you completely.
Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:14
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” — Psalm 139:14, KJVS
Devotional Reflection — Marvelous Are Thy Works
Sis, when was the last time you slowed down long enough to really notice God’s handiwork?
We live fast. We move from one responsibility to another, often looking at our phones, thinking about the next appointment, worrying about tomorrow, or replaying yesterday. Meanwhile, evidence of God’s creativity surrounds us.
The sunrise. Flowers blooming. Clouds moving across the sky. The sound of birds in the morning. The face of someone you love. Even the woman looking back at you in the mirror.
David says, “Marvellous are thy works.”
And Sis, you are included in those works!
Sometimes it is easier to admire God’s creativity everywhere except within ourselves. We can look at an incredible sunset and say, “God, that’s beautiful,” while looking in the mirror and immediately identifying everything we think is wrong.
But the same God created both.
Today, slow down and notice beauty. Let something in God’s creation remind you of the Creator. And when you recognize His beautiful work around you, remember that His hands have also been at work within you.
Journal Prompt
Journal Entry: What does God’s beauty look like to you? Where do you notice Him most easily—in nature, people, music, quiet moments, creativity, or somewhere else?
Describe something beautiful God has created and then finish this sentence:
“When I see God’s beauty, it reminds me that He is __________.”
Today’s Challenge
Challenge139 — Day 19: “Capture”
Today, take a photo of something that reflects God’s beauty to you.
It could be a sunrise, flower, tree, sky, child laughing, someone you love, or something completely ordinary that suddenly causes you to notice the extraordinary creativity of God.
Pause before taking the picture and simply say, but don’t just say it; Yell it! Yes, out loud.
“God, marvelous are Your works!”
Keep the photo as a reminder that God’s fingerprints are all around you.
And remember—you are one of His marvelous works too.
Today’s Prayer
Father, open my eyes to Your beauty today. Slow me down enough to notice the evidence of Your hands all around me. Thank You for the creativity displayed throughout Your creation, and help me remember that I am also Your workmanship. May what I see today cause my heart to praise You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Sis, Remember This…
Beauty isn’t only found in extraordinary places.
Sometimes God’s glory is sitting quietly in something you’ve walked past a hundred times.
Slow down. Look again. Capture the moment. Marvelous are His works.
