Challenge139 – Day 28

Absolutely. And since Day 28 is about community, we can make it feel especially warm and personal—sometimes a simple “Sis, how are you really doing?” is ministry all by itself.

Challenge139 — Day 28

FILAS Women Online — Devotional for a deeper, more intimate walk with the God who knows you completely.

Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:17–18

“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”Psalm 139:17–18, KJV

Devotional Reflection — Sis, I Was Thinking About You

Sis, we’ve spent the last few days talking about the beautiful truth that God thinks about us. His thoughts toward us are precious, and David says they are more numerous than the sand.

We’ve also challenged ourselves to think about God more—to intentionally make room for Him in our everyday thoughts. But today, I want us to take this one step further.

Who else has God placed on your mind?

Have you ever been going about your day and suddenly thought about someone you haven’t spoken to in a while? Maybe her face comes to mind. Maybe you wonder how she’s doing. Maybe you feel a little nudge that says, “I need to call her.”

Don’t always dismiss these types of thoughts.

Sometimes God puts someone on your mind because He wants you to reach out.

We can be surrounded by people and still feel alone. We can smile, go to work, take care of our families, serve at church, post on social media, and answer “I’m fine” while carrying something nobody knows about.

That’s why community matters.

We need sisters who don’t only celebrate with us when life is good, but who notice when we get quiet. Sisters who pray. Sisters who check in. Sisters who can simply say, “Hey Sis, you crossed my mind today. How are you?”

You don’t have to have the perfect words. You don’t have to solve her problem.

Sometimes you just need to remind her:

“I see you. I thought about you. I’m here.”

Who Has Been On My Mind?

Think about the women that God has placed in your life.

Is there a sister you haven’t spoken to lately?

Has someone’s name or face repeatedly crossed your mind?

Write her name in your journal and ask:

“Lord, is there something You want me to do?”

Then don’t just write about it.

Reach out.

Challenge139 — Day 28: Community

Today, reach out to a sister and check on her.

Call her, send her a text, leave a voice message, invite her for coffee, Or…

“Hey Sis! You were on my mind today, and I wanted to check on you. How are you REALLY doing?”

And when she answers, take time to listen.

Don’t rush to give advice. Don’t immediately tell your own story. Give her room to talk.

If she shares something she’s struggling with, ask:

“Can I pray for you?”

And if she says yes, don’t just tell her you’ll pray later.

Pray for her.

Today, let’s make sure another sister knows she doesn’t have to walk through life alone.

Father, thank You for keeping me on Your mind and surrounding me with Your love. Thank You also for the women You have placed in my life. Make me sensitive to Your Spirit when someone crosses my mind. Keep me from becoming so busy with my own life that I fail to notice when another sister needs encouragement. Show me who needs a call, a text, a prayer, a listening ear, or simply a reminder that she is loved. Help me build genuine community where we don’t just say we’re sisters—we show up for one another like sisters. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sometimes ministry looks like a microphone.

Sometimes it looks like a Bible study.

And sometimes ministry is simply picking up your phone and saying:

“Hey Sis, you were on my mind. How are you?”

You never know what another woman is carrying behind her smile.

Sis, if God puts her on your mind, put some love into action. Check on your sister today.
