Challenge139 — Day 32
FILAS Women Online — Devotional for a deeper, more intimate walk with the God who knows you completely.
Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:19–20
“Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.” — Psalm 139:19–20, KJV
Devotional Reflection — Some Distance Is Healthy
Sis., David says, “Depart from me.”
Those words remind us of something we sometimes struggle to accept: boundaries can be ok.
Some of us have been taught that being a good Christian woman means always saying yes, always being available, and tolerating behavior that continually hurts or drains us.
But forgiveness doesn’t always mean restored access.
You can forgive someone and still establish a boundary. You can pray for someone and recognize that closeness with them isn’t healthy. You can love someone and say, “I cannot continue participating in this.”
A boundary isn’t always punishment.
Sometimes it’s wisdom.
Ask God to help you distinguish between walls built from bitterness and boundaries built from wisdom.
Journal Prompt
Is there an area of your life where you need a healthier boundary?
What are you afraid will happen if you establish it?
Write:
“God, help me set boundaries from wisdom, not bitterness.”
Today’s Challenge
Challenge139 — Day 32: Establish One Healthy Boundary
Identify one small boundary you need to honor today.
It might mean saying no, stepping away from a negative conversation, limiting your availability, turning off your phone, or refusing to participate in gossip.
Practice that boundary without guilt.
Today’s Prayer
Father, give me wisdom to know where boundaries are needed. Keep me from building walls out of hurt, but also keep me from allowing unhealthy things continual access to my life. Teach me to love with wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Sis, Remember This…
“No” isn’t always mean. Distance isn’t always unforgiveness.
Sometimes protecting your peace is simply recognizing what God never asked you to keep carrying.
