Challenge139 – Day 45

Challenge139 — Day 45

FILAS Women Online — Devotional for a deeper, more intimate walk with the God who knows you completely.

Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:4 KJV

“For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.”

Devotional Reflection — Before You Say It

Sis, we’ve talked about letting God examine our thoughts. Today, let’s talk about what happens when those thoughts become words.

David says God knows our words before we speak them. Think about that. Before the text is sent, before the comment is made, before the argument begins, before the gossip leaves our mouths—God already knows.

Our words have power. They can encourage or embarrass, heal or wound, calm a situation or set it on fire. And sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is simply pause before we speak.

Not everything you feel needs to be said immediately. Not everything you know needs to be repeated. Not every argument needs your response.

Today, invite God into the space between what you feel and what you say.

Journal Prompt — What Are My Words Producing?

Think about your conversations lately.

Have your words been producing peace, encouragement, truth, healing, conflict, criticism, or negativity?

Write one area where you want God to help you communicate differently.

Today’s Challenge — The Holy Pause

Before responding to something emotional today, take a five-second pause.

Ask:

“God, should I say this? And if I should, how should I say it?”

Today’s Prayer

Father, You know my words before I speak them. Help me use my mouth wisely. Teach me when to speak, how to speak, and when silence is better. Let my words reflect Your love, wisdom, truth, and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sis, Remember This…

Just because it came to your mind doesn’t mean it needs to come out of your mouth.

Sis, give God the opportunity to edit it first.
