FILAS Women Online — Devotional for a deeper, more intimate walk with the God who knows you completely.
Today’s Scripture — Psalm 139:5 KJV
“Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.”
Devotional Reflection — Covered Behind and Before
Sis, sometimes we worry about two places we cannot live: yesterday and tomorrow.
We replay yesterday asking what we should have done differently. Then we worry about tomorrow, imagining things that haven’t even happened. Meanwhile, today is passing us by.
David gives us a beautiful picture: God is behind us and before us.
That means your past isn’t outside His reach, and your future isn’t outside His control.
You don’t have to keep going backward trying to rewrite what God can redeem. And you don’t have to keep running ahead trying to control what God already sees.
His hand is upon you today.
Maybe peace begins when we stop trying to live in yesterday or tomorrow and trust God with both.
Journal Prompt — Yesterday or Tomorrow?
Which one steals more of your peace—something behind you or something ahead of you?
Write it down and intentionally surrender it to God.
Today’s Challenge — Stay Here
Whenever your mind begins replaying yesterday or worrying about tomorrow, say:
“God is behind me. God is before me. His hand is upon me right now.”
Today’s Prayer
Father, thank You for covering what is behind me and already being present in what is ahead. Help me stop living in regret and worry. Teach me to receive Your grace for yesterday, trust You with tomorrow, and be present with You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Sis, Remember This…
God is already standing in the tomorrow you’re worried about.
Sis, stay here. His hand is upon you today.
